How do I test my survey?
You can test your survey on the KITE mobile app, downloadable from Google Play Store.
Only valid and activated surveys are visible and available for testing.
a) For campaign and respondent surveys, login into the mobile app with a respondent, subject or participant account. You can create an account using the “Register” functionality on the mobile app if don’t have any
b) For normal surveys, login into the mobile app with an agent or FO account. If don’t have an account reach out to the lab or KITE development team for creation of an account
c) Assign yourself to the survey, if a protected survey. Public surveys will be visible to everyone
d) Fill in the data on the mobile app to the end
- Verify question appear as intended
- Verify the answer input validate as expected e.g. You are able to input numbers where numbers are required, etc
- Verify page and question order is as intended
e) You can re-assign yourself to the survey upon data submission to allow you test the survey multiple times

e) Submit data to the backend
f) Confirm you can export data for the specific surveys
g) Rollout your survey for the pilot or main study data collection
My survey is not showing on the mobile app, what should l do?
There are various reasons a survey may not show on the mobile app. If encountering this, check :
a) The survey visibility. Only public and protected surveys are visible to participants
b) Participant assignment to the survey, if the survey has protected visibility, the survey will only be shown to participants assigned to it.
c) Survey validity has expired. Surveys are valid between the start and end date. Check if the end date has passed.
d) The survey type. Normal surveys are ONLY visible to FOs and agents. Respondent surveys and campaigns are visible to ONLY subjects/participants.
If participants cannot view the survey after following the above checks, reach out to the KITE development team on Slack #busaraonline_officehours channel
Data is not showing for my survey, what should I do?
There are various reasons data may not show for your survey,if experiencing this check with below steps.
a) Check participants have completed the survey. This can be verified under Survey > Assign users. Participants that have completed the survey will have “is complete” marked as true.

b) Check participants or FOs have submitted data to the backend.You can confirm with each participant. Unsubmitted or unuploaded data will show as pending records on the mobile app.

c) If still unable to export data on the survey, please reach out to the KITE development team on Slack #busaraonline_officehours channel
